Meet the Young Blood of Bundesliga 2017-18

Bundesliga news is abuzz at the new batch of young talents set to make their debut this season. The players are all under 20 years of age. Yet their skills and experience could match their senior counterparts with no trouble. Indeed, don’t let their boyish looks fool you. each of them means business. Moreover, each has a plan to prove their worth on the field and to the fans. We look at the young stars who are set to make their mark in Bundesliga 2017-18 and beyond.

The Youngest in this Season’s Batch

This season welcomes three 17-year-old players namely Christian Fruchtl, Alexander Isak, and Jann-Fiete Arp. Arp scored a long-term contract with Hamburg. His reputation precedes him following an impressive performance at the UEFA European U-17 Championship. Hence, fans can expect nothing but greatness from this 17-year-old. Meanwhile, Christian Fruchtl stands as a goalkeeper for Bayern Munich. He recently played for the club’s Under-17s Bundesliga title. Alexander Isak is hailed the new Zlatan Ibrahimovic. He plays for Borussia Dortmund under its new coach Peter Bosz.

The Middle Aged in this Season’s Batch

Reece Oxford, Christian Pulisic, Kai Havertz, Dayot Upamecano, Weston Mckennie, Kevin Danso, and Dan-Axel Zagadou are all 18 years of age. Yet each one is destined for great things. Pulisic and Zagadou both joined the Dortmund club. Both are part Dortmund’s focus on building a strong team for their future.

Oxford is the latest addition to Gladbach while Leipzig welcomed the colossal young defender Upamecano. Havertz joined Bayer Leverkusen last season as the club’s boy wonder. Midfielder McKennie is raring to see more action with Schalke while defender Danso is the youngest player in the history of Augsburg.

The Seniors in this Season’s Batch

Well, just a year or two older than the other young bloods. Nonetheless, these players are still new to the big leagues. Joao Queiros and Salih Ozcan joined Cologne. Ozcan’s leadership skills could prove useful to the club in its future. Queiros has yet to make his professional debut. Even so, he is a solid defender with an impressive background.

Though not yet a household name, Yousef Emghames will soon be for the Hannover club. The younger Eggestein, Johannes joins Bremen this season. He’s out to make a name for himself in Bundesliga. Dortmund welcomes Felix Passlack while Frankfurt has Aymen Barkok. Marco Friedl joined the reigning Bayern Munich while Wolfsburg welcomed Landry Dimata. Justin Hoogma is part of Hoffenheim and Gladbach has Laszlo Benes.
